"I believe that if life gives you lemons, you should make lemonade…
And try to find somebody whose life has given them vodka, and have a party."—Ron White, Comedian
The Lemon Drop was created in San Francisco in the 1970s by Norman Hobday, owner of Henry Africa's. It is often called a Lemon Drop Martini but even if you serve it in a Martini glass it reamins no more (and certainly no less) than a simple sour. (Apparenly, 'Alternatinis' were popular in the 1990s—drinks served in a Martini glass that were in no way related to the Martini.) Many recipes call for triple sec but we prefer the refreshing taste of a straight vodka sour.
